Bits & Beeps #9

my.raceresult.com Tracking Map

Pour voir cette vidéo, vous devez accepter les conditions d’utilisation de YouTube.

In this episode of Bits & Beeps, we explain how to set up the Tracking Map for use in a Participant View on my.raceresult.com.

Requirements

  • Proper GPX/KML course uploaded for contest that covers the whole distance (including all laps for lap events)
  • Splits set up
  • Map enabled in Participant View of your choice

Visual Improvements and recommendations

  • Display map a few days before the event, but hide after the event as it doesn't bring value when race is over
  • Use Contest Colors when several contests take place simultaneously
  • Define GPS location of Timing Points to ensure they are visualized at the exact location
  • Customize Label and Tooltip for athletes on the map

Prediction Accuracy

  • If possible, compare to historical data from previous years, ideally when timed with RACE RESULT 14, using the Splits Analysis under "Timing > Analysis"
  • Adjust minimum possible time (i.e. min. pace / time, max. speed) for each sector in Split settings to reflect a relatively equal time compared to other splits
    • Prediction calculates a factor based on an individual's time divided by the fastest possible time
    • When keeping a steady pace, this factor should be identical throughout all sectors
