Bibs are like a business card of your sports event: advertising space for sponsors, memorabilia for athletes and to be seen on almost every photo. Bibs need to be be robust and comfortable at the same time. We print all bibs on Tyvek®. A very high quality material, as made for the special requirements of competitions. Tyvek® is deformable like paper and has a textile-like fleece structure. But it is much more durable.
Tyvek® is manufactured by DuPont in a patented process. It is used in many different areas: as cladding for buildings, for protective suits or for admission wristbands.
Tyvek® is made of 100% HDPE (high density polyethylene). Fibers, which are many times thinner than human hair, are first spun and then bound by heat and pressure, without additional binders.
Tyvek® is 100% recyclable and can be reused in many different products: pipes to protect underground cables, parts for the automotive industry, packaging and flower pots, ...
Polyethylene can usually be recycled up to four or five times before its physical properties are significantly impaired. When Tyvek® is burned with excess oxygen, only water and CO2 remain. The fuel yield is at least twice as high as with coal.
