How does Interpolate Times work internally?

Hi Andreas,

Interpolate time works as so

1.    Tool identifies which times are empty in "Interpolate this Result".
2.    For each participant where this time is empty
a.    It selects the 10 participants with the closest times to each participants "With the Help of"
b.    It averages these participant's "Interpolate this Result", and makes the empty time this time.

For example (assume Rank = Bib):

Participant 6 has a missing start time.

Participant 6 finished the race in 6th, with the following times for the surrounding participants.

Rank=Bib             Start                      Finish
1                              0:00:20                  0:20:00
2                              0:01:11                  0:21:00
3                              0:00:10                  0:22:00
4                              0:00:16                  0:23:00
5                              0:01:06                  0:24:00
6                              <EMPTY>             0:24:30
7                              0:01:06                  0:24:50
8                              0:01:33                  0:25:00
9                              0:00:06                  0:25:01
10                           0:00:11                  0:25:02
11                           0:00:01                  0:25:03

Interpolating Start with the help of Finish, would estimate #6's start time, by averaging the start times of bibs 1-5,7-11.

Interpolating Start with the help of Finish is good for getting missed start detections. Obviously, it's best not to interpolate Finish with the help of Start.

Cheers,
James
