Decoder Passing File

All Decoder timing data will be stored in a passing file on the system. Each file has a unique ID, which is displayed on the main screen of the decoder, where it says File No.

A new passing file is started each time the decoder enters Timing Mode. When Timing Mode is stopped, the current file will be closed, and the next file will be created. If the decoder is in Test Mode, the current file number displayed on the screen will be used once Timing Mode is enabled. A passing is generated each time a transponder is read by the system or when a marker is created. When a decoder is in Timing Mode, all passing will be stored in the active passing file.

When connecting to a Decoder, only passings from the current passing file will be sent. When using Mobile Upload, only the current passing file will be uploaded unless otherwise configured in the Mobile Upload settings.

Passing files are permanently stored on the decoder. These files are small in size, and storage capacity is not a concern. If you ever need to access a past file, here are several ways you can do so.

When locating the correct passing file, here are a few things to note.

  • If a decoder has stopped Timing Mode, the next file is created, but it will not contain any data yet. This means the most recent file will actually be empty (shows 0 kb when looking at the file on your computer).
  • Each file will show a date created. This can help find the correct file if you don't remember the ID.

Passing files can be read into RR12 following the article Read Passings File.
