This is a simple running event with one single contest, a 10 km. Times are collected at the start and finish line (with two detection lines, main and backup), at the 5 km split, and on a timing line placed 100 m before the finish for the speaker to know who is coming to the finish line.

Splits setup

Start and finish are at the same place, participants cross the main detection line before the back up every time. The times are collected in two separate timing points, selected as main and backup in the splits set up, with an offset to account for the gap between the two lines.

The speaker split is setup as internal so it does not show up in the public live results.

Two legs are set up to calculate each 5 km sector of the race.

Output lists

The following output lists are set up:

• Startlist sorted by bib, for online display and for print, using a background created in the Designer tool. Have a look at the Page settings and at the PDF view for a quick overview of what is possible in terms of personalization.
• Final results:
  • 3 separate lists for Overall, Gender and Age Group results. Take a look at the "Filter" option applied to the Age Group and Gender groupings in the corresponding lists to create the drop down menus, and at the advanced options for these filters to give them a name and select a default value.
  • one "All-in-One" result lists using the "Filter with ignore" option and the AutoRank to combine all three result lists into one dynamic one.
• LIVE results:
  • LIVE Results list using the {LastSplit} variable to group participants by their last recorded split and showing their time and rank at that split, only using standard fields.
  • Improved LIVE Results using {LastSplit} together with user-defined fields and functions and expressions to apply the following enhancements:
    • add a label to participants who have not started yet
    • only rank participants and display a time from the first split after start, not at the start
    • concatenate rank and category for the Age Group and Gender information
    • concatenate and format gun time and time of day for the ETA
    • merge ETA with status column and hide ETA for finishers.
  • Further improved LIVE Results list with all the features above, using the {Selector} fields to create a dropdown for the user to select any split or leg and display the ranking at that split or on that leg, and the ability to group / filter per Age Group and Gender.
• Speaker:
  • Live Leaderboard to follow the Top 10 male and Top 5 female participants, with gap times.
  • Finish Line report showing incoming participants (just detected across the speaker line) and last finishers on top, with gender and age group podium finishers highlighted in bold.
• Details list for display in the pop up window when clicking on a participant in the result lists on my.raceresult.com. Compare this with the automatic splits / leg table that can be activated under my.raceresult.com > Publishing - Certificates / Details.
• Presenter:
  • Live Top 5 Male Female to be displayed during the race
  • Last finishes report to be displayed once the Top 5 is complete.

All lists are published on https://my.raceresult.com/151967/ for you to look at. Look at the reponsive layout settings that have been defined for certain fields and at the impact this has on the order in which the fields disappear when you reduce the width of the window.

Tools

The following tools are set up for on-site display:

• Announcer, with live and final result lists selected for the corresponding tabs
• Present Results: select any list, play around with the scrolling and refresh rate options.
• Show Last Chip Reads: delete the Race Simulation and run it again to see what happens.
• Result Kiosk: after running a simulation, start the Kiosk and type a participant's name or bib number to display the certificate
• Presenter: start the Presenter tool and select the Remote Controlled Presenter 1 [Big Screen]. Start another instance and edit the configuration to see what happens.
