Timing solution for
Road Race

For a road race, the passive system with disposable transponders on the back of the bib is the perfect solution. If start and finish are at the same place, chip times can be taken. Otherwise you will record gun times (don't worry, a few hundred participants cross the start line within a few seconds anyway). Alternatively, you can also rent a second system for the start.

Canada’s largest 10k road race since its inception in 1985 and one of the largest 10k in North America. In 2022, more than 20,000 runners took place. The race is timed by Sportstats using the RACE RESULT Passive System. They use the Foldable Ground Antenna at start and finish and add a backup timing line at both.

Setup

For a small race, one single Passive System is absolutely sufficient. Set it up at the finish line and connect it to a laptop to receive all finish times automatically and in real time without any additional effort.
In RACE RESULT 12, use the template "Standard Event". This template is the perfect starting point and may already bring all you need.

Decoder

Receives the signals from the transponders, calculates the exact finish time and provides the data to the scoring software like RACE RESULT 12 in real time. Internal battery for 8-10 hours, integrated 4G module, precise GPS time, 2 ethernet ports.

Foldable Ground Antenna

The patented red mat has become inherent part of hundreds of start and finish lines in sports competitions all over the world. The setup can be done in a few seconds. This saves personnel and storage costs. Race organizers benefit from the quick installation of split points.

Bib with Transponder

UHF transponders specially developed for sports timekeeping. Praised by customers worldwide for highest detection rates. The accuracy is 0.2 s. Transponders are available on roll or ready-attached to a customized, personallized Tyvek bib.
