Questions regarding the Ordering Process
What is the Process for Ordering Individual Print Products
- Log in or Register in the online shop.
- Choose the desired products and add them to your shopping cart.
- You will receive an order confirmation via email (please check your spam folder if you have not received an email).
- We will send you a print preview as soon as possible via email.
- You can request any changes directly in the print preview.
- Once you approve the order, you will get notified about the final delivery date. Please note that you can not make any changes to the order from this point forward.
- If you want to pay with credit card, you will be directed to the payments page.
- Your order will be produced and delivered to you on the specified date.
Please note that any custom print products can not be returned.
What is the Order Process for Standard Products
This order process only applies to generic bibs, RACE RESULT bibs, as well as the "RACE RESULT Triathlon Transponder (generic, disposable)". These products are pre-produced in blocks of 100. These products cannot be individually printed. See also "Tyvek Bib Number A5, Regular".
If you only order these products, you will not receive a print preview. Your order will be directly forwarded to our shipping department.
Can I place Orders for printed Products via E-mail?
Certainly, you can send us inquiries and orders via email, and we will provide you with a response as soon as possible.
Please be aware, however, that inquiries submitted via email may experience longer processing times. This is because orders placed through our online shop take precedence and are processed nearly around the clock on business days.
In our online shop, you will find all products with detailed information and prices, categorized into various sections. You can place orders for any product there.
Should I place my Order even if the Personalization Data is not final?
If you don't have all your personalization data ready, or if the online registration is not yet closed, you can still place your order.
The advantage of doing so is that we can start creating the layout and address any layout-related queries, which enables us to send your order for approval more quickly once we have the personalization data.
If you are using RR12 for participant management, you can provide us with your Event ID when placing the order. This allows us to continuously update the data during the layout process.
If you plan to provide us with an Excel spreadsheet for personalization, you are welcome to inform us in advance about which participant data should be placed on the layout. We will then create a preview according to your preferences. Once the registration is completed, you can upload the final Excel spreadsheet in the print preview, and we will send you the updated layout.

Is there a minimum Order Quantity
There is no minimum order quantity unless otherwise stated. Information regarding the minimum order quantity can be found in the respective product description in the online shop.
How long do I have to wait for the Print Preview?
You will receive the first print preview within 24 hours of placing your order (not including weekends and public holidays). We always strive to give you the fastest service possible, but please consider that it is not always possible to provide a print preview before 12 o'clock.
Please plan your delivery with corrections in mind and remember that any approval after 12 o'clock will delay the production date by one day, this can lead to express costs.
Can I remove the raceresult.com URL?
In general, we provide our bibs with our URL. In the case of bibs without a transponder, this can be removed if desired; this is not possible for bibs with a transponder due to legal regulations.
Layout
If you order our custom printing products, you have the freedom to design them according to your preferences.
You have the following options:
- You can send us a self-designed layout. Please refer to our data sheet for guidelines, where you'll also find templates available for download for each printing product.
- You can send us individual design elements from which we will create a layout for you (e.g., logos, backgrounds, etc.). If you already have an idea of how it should look, feel free to include instructions regarding placement preferences in the remarks field.
- If you don't have your own layout, you're welcome to use the layouts from our online shop. All layouts visible in our product images can be utilized for your order as well. However, modifications to these templates are limited. If you wish to use one of these layouts, please indicate so in the remarks field during the ordering process.
Please note that we do not offer extensive design services. Therefore, we cannot undertake elaborate image retouching, make significant adjustments to existing data, create new graphic elements, or design complete layouts.

Data Submission
What needs to be considered when delivering data?
Print file
Please send us your print file without the following elements:
- Placeholders for bib numbers
- Placeholders for personalizations (e.g., names)
- holes
- Rounded corners
- Contour lines directly on the final format
- Die-cut / perforation lines
Additionally, feel free to send us a preview file alongside the print data so we can have a clear understanding of your requirements.
File Format
For a smooth process, we recommend using the specified file formats. Other formats may not be supported.
Please send us your layout in one of the following formats:
- PDF (fonts embedded or text converted to outlines)
- AI / EPS (include fonts and links)
- JPG / PNG / PSD / TIFF
- INDD (include fonts and links)
Technical Requirements
- Resolution: 300 dpi
- Color mode: CMYK (no RGB or spot colors)
- Profile: ISO Coated v2
If your data uses a different color space and / or profile, we will convert it accordingly.
Bleed
We generally require a 2 mm bleed on all sides of your file. Please note that some products may have different requirements. For detailed measurements, please refer to the product-specific guidelines in our data sheet. Bleed is essential for production due to tolerances.
Colors and Color Representation
We produce our print products in digital printing and are using CMYK colors, so we require all print files and color specifications in CMYK color mode.
Please note the following:
- RGB colors, spot colors (such as Pantone), and HEX codes are automatically converted to CMYK. This may result in color deviations from the original color.
- Even when using 4c black (black composed of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), deviations may occur despite using CMYK values, as we must adjust this color for production reasons.
- Color areas and fine gradients, may show unintended banding and / or color variation depending on the material.
- The colors shown in the print preview are for reference only. In particular, if you submit colors in RGB or HEX, the color displayed in the preview may differ significantly from the actual print color. For more detailed information about color tolerances, click here.
To avoid unwanted print results, please provide all data in CMYK color mode.
If you want to provide color codes, e.g. for differently colored text or backgrounds, please always send us the CMYK values.
Black elements should always be defined as 0,0,0,100.
Please understand that we cannot offer reprints or compensation for color deviations caused by print data and / or color values outside the CMYK color space (e.g. RGB, HEX, or spot colors).
Die-Cut and Perforation Lines
If you order a custom die-cut, we need the following files:
- Print file as described above
- Separate vector file for the die-cut shape (AI / EPS / PDF)
- Preview file showing the placement of desired elements including the die-cut shape
Please set up the die-cut as follows:
- All lines as a spot color
- All elements must have the attributes "Overprint Fill" and "Overprint Stroke"
- Line thickness: 0.25 pt
- Use only solid lines (no dashed lines)
- For cut and perforation lines, use different spot colors with clear labeling

Are there templates available for download?
We provide free templates for Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop for each product. You can find them in our data sheet: Templates.
I want to use the same layout from a previous order. Do I need to upload the file again?
If you want to reorder using the same layout from a previous order, please provide the relevant order number. We will gladly reuse the layout without requiring you to upload new data.

Number Ranges
How do I enter my desired number range?
During the ordering process, you can specify the desired number range to be printed. Several options are available to you.
Sequential number ranges
For sequential number ranges, you can use our convenient quick entry feature under "Enter range(s)." The total quantity will be calculated automatically. Additionally, you can specify how many times each individual number range is needed.
Excel File
Alternatively, you can provide us with an Excel list containing the desired order numbers via the "Upload File" option. Please note that a personalization fee applies for this service. You can find more information about it here.
Non-sequential Number Ranges and Special Numbers such as Relay Numbers
If you do not need sequential numbers or special numbers, such as batch numbers, please select the "Enter Description" option. Here, you can enter the numbers separated by commas.
Example: 1, 3, 5, 22, 30-50, 101
You can still enter sequential number ranges (like 30-50 in the example above). This option primarily simplifies the input process when dealing with a large set of non-sequential numbers.
Please note that in such cases, the total quantity of your ordered numbers must be adjusted manually in the input field, as the system does not calculate it automatically.
Relay numbers can, for example, be entered as follows:
1A-20D or 1-1 to 10-3.
Based on this description, we will create a print preview for you with the following numbers:
1A, 1B, 1C, 1D to 20A, 20B, 20C, 20D or 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 to 10-1, 10-2, 10-3.
Without numbers
If you do not want any numbers on the front of your race bib, please select the "Without Numbers" option. In the next step, you can still personalize your race bib according to your preferences, such as adding participants' first names.
Please note, however: For race bibs with a transponder, we still require the numbers needed to encode the transponder on the back. Simply provide us with the desired numbers for this purpose.
Setup Fee
How much is the setup fee and when do I need to pay it?
We produce every order individually according to your specifications, as such we have costs to setup the tools, machines, and files. Therefore, there is a setup fee for every order, this also applies to reprints.
Personalization
Are there any personalization fees?
Our print products can contain individual data depending on the participant. As soon as you
- submit an Excel list or
- use data from a RACE RESULT 12 event file or
- provide QR codes or graphics from third-party services for recognition and photo distribution platforms
There will be a one-off cost of 15 EUR / 15 USD for personalization.
The following variables are free of charge, if they do not need an Excel file and do not have a RACE RESULT 12 event ID linked:
- Simple bib number ranges
- Barcode / QR code
- Relay numbers
- Layout -> entire layout or only logo change
- Texts such as competition name per number range
- Color changes of areas and text
How do I submit personalization data?
- When using RACE RESULT 12, you can link the event ID during the order process.
- You can upload one single Excel file during the order process or send it to shop@raceresult.com (please include order ID).
Personalization from RACE RESULT 12 Event File
When using RACE RESULT 12 for your event, you can link your order to the event ID.
Please note that only one event can be linked per order.
We can then dynamically use most fields from your event file for personalization. This includes:
- All user inputs (name, club, team, age, phone, …), incl. additional text fields
- Nation -> flags
- Contest name
- Bib number
- Bib ranges
- Age groups
- User-defined fields
- User-defined attributes
- Custom additional fields, such as T-shirt sizes, etc.
- Comments
- CMYK color codes for the bib design
Please note that the following event file data cannot be used for personalization:
- Event name
- Pictures
- Start times / Finish times
- Results
- Team Scores
- Lists
- Certificates
- Statistics
Kindly be aware that the process may encounter issues if there are errors in your event data, such as duplicate field names. To avoid problems and delays, please ensure all entries in your event file are unique and free from redundancies.
Personalization – Excel File Requirements
Each column of your Excel file needs a unique header that we use as a placeholder to when designing your personalized layout. Please be clear and consistent when naming columns.
We can process the following data for personalization:
- Text incl. special characters (e.g. bib number, contest name, first / last name, team, club, company, year of birth, address fields, phone, …)
- CMYK color code
- URLs for QR-code or barcode
Please note the following points when creating your data file:
- Per order, create only a single file with all start numbers (including the numbers that do not have any personalization). Do not create multiple files or worksheets. If you have multiple products with personalized data, please use additional columns in the same file to specify these products.
- If you order start numbers with transponders, there cannot be any number duplicates in the file.
- If the printed start number differs from the requested transponder coding, you must create a separate column with the transponder number. For example: the printed start number is A101, but the transponder is programmed as 101.
- If you order start numbers with transponders, please note that the programmed transponder codes may have a maximum of 7 digits – the highest permissible number is therefore 9,999,999.
- Name each column header and inform us, which column should be placed where on the layout. The column headers cannot contain any empty spaces or special characters.
- In case of a layout change within the same order, please create a column with the layout's name.
- In case of a color change, please create a column with the CMYK color value or the color name.
- For personalization with country flags, we need the ALPHA-2 or ALPHA-3 code in a column. All countries must be written in the same code.
Reorder
I would like to reorder a job. How can I do that?
You can view your previous orders at any time in your customer account.
Please select the same products as your last order when reordering through our online shop and indicate that you would like us to use the layout from your old order. Please include the old order number. If there were multiple sets in your old order, please also provide the name of the set. For added security, you can also send us a screenshot.
All our orders with customized print products include a set-up fee so that we can produce individually, this also applies for repeat orders. Click here for more information.
Tear-Off Tags / Cutting Die
What is a tear-off tag?
A tear-off tag refers to an area of the material that can be easily and cleanly separated from the race bib using perforation.
This perforation line is created by mechanically punching the material.
Why do I need a tear-off tag?
A tear-off is useful when information needs to be provided separately from the race bib without ordering and combining a separate product. Examples include luggage tags, vouchers, tickets, etc.
What options does RACE RESULT offer?
When ordering a product in our online shop, you will find the available options under "Substrate Features," provided that a tear-off tag is possible for the selected product.
Detailed information about the available options can be found in the sub-items or by clicking the question mark symbol next to the tear-offs in the shop.
Please note that the exact position of the tear-off is predetermined for each variant.
If you require a tear-off with a custom size and shape, we are happy to create a custom die according to your specifications. With this option, the number and positioning of the tear-offs can be freely chosen.
However, please note that we must first individually check the feasibility for production reasons, which may extend the production time for custom dies.

You will receive a bib in A5 format, including the tear-off tag. Without the tear-off tag, the race bib measures 210 x 126 mm. The position and size of the tear-off tag cannot be changed.

The lower tear-off tag has a height of 22 mm, making it ideal for displaying a short text.

Can I order a different format from the standard custom size with a tear-off tag on the right?
We would be happy to check if your custom format can be technically implemented. Please note that formats outside the standard are unfortunately not always feasible, especially with bibs that include a transponder. However, we can offer the standard size of 230 x 200 mm without any issues or delays.

Custom Press Cut Form (recurring orders)
Can I also order custom tear-off tags?
If you would like a tear-off tag with a custom size and placement, we will be happy to create a custom die according to your specifications. With this option, the amount and positioning of the tear-off tags can be freely chosen. You will pay a one-time production fee for the cutting die, which we will then store for free. After a successful order, we will create a special product for your customer account in our online shop, so you can always refer to it. For your future orders, you can directly select your custom die, and only the costs for the die-cutting process per quantity will apply.
A Custom Press Cut Form can be used for approx. 250,000 to 1 million die-cutting processes (depending on the material).

If you have a smaller order and / or no recurring order, you can also choose Plotter Cut / Perforation.
If you want a special contour, please choose Individual shape / contour punched.

- For one-off jobs (the order is not expected to be repeated)

If you require an individual shape, we will be happy to realize this according to your specifications. Any shape and format can be realized with this option.

- Complex shapes that are not limited to a straight line, such as curved contours

Please note that, depending on the specific shape, we may not always be able to deliver the race numbers pre-cut. For production and shipping reasons, they may be sent as a sheet. In this case, you would need to separate the race numbers from the sheet yourself accordingly to the perforations to achieve the final format. We kindly ask for your understanding.

Tolerances
Are there tolerances in printing?
When printing, there may be shifts between the preview and the final product, which can be caused by various factors such as the cutting tool, the printing machine, or the material. To ensure that the final printed product has a clean and professional appearance despite these tolerances, a bleed of 2 mm is added to all sides when designing the layout. It is important to note that the bleed of 2 mm must be added on all sides of the layout. This means that the layout is a total of 4 mm larger in height and 4 mm larger in width than the final printed product. It should also be noted that important elements such as text or images that are close to the edge of the layout must be placed within the actual layout to prevent them from being cut off. The safety distance to the edge is 4 mm.
In printing production, a registration shift of up to 1 mm may occur due to production. The registration shift refers to the alignment of the color separations with each other. During the printing process, the individual colors can shift slightly, which can lead to a deviation in the registration of the colors. However, this registration shift is a normal process in printing and cannot always be completely avoided due to the material properties and printing machines.
As a result, there may be fluctuations from sheet to sheet, which can affect the position of
- cutting edges
- holes
- Extra holes (if ordered)
- Rounded corners
- Perforation lines (for both standard tear-offs and special die-cuts)
Are there tolerances in color?
The preview of the data is only a simulation of the future printing result and has no binding effect on color. This is because the CMYK color mode cannot be displayed in the preview. The output on the monitor always occurs in RGB mode and the resolution is not true to the original. Therefore, the data preview cannot be equated with a proof / plot! If you want to be sure that the colors will meet your expectations later, you can tell us the exact CMYK values. We convert RGB and hex colors.
Formats
What formats are available?
You will find all available formats in our online shop. They range from DIN A6 to DIN A4.
If you require a non-standard size we have the special size, this offers any custom size from 3 x 6 cm to 31 x 44 cm.
Which format do I need to order?
We offer various formats for race bibs in our shop. Please always order the following formats:
<= A6 (148 x 105 mm) = Race Bibs / MTB plates A6
A6 <= A5 (210 x 148 mm) = Race Bibs / MTB plates A5
A5 <= A4 (210 x 297 mm) = Special Size Race Bibs / MTB plates
Our standard special size is 230 x 200 mm.

If you prefer a different format, please specify the exact format when placing your order in the shop. During the configuration process, you have the option to select a special format. By clicking on "Individual special size" two input fields will appear where you can enter your desired width and height:
Please note that not every format can be produced for race bibs with transponders. We need to individually assess whether the requested format is feasible. This may result in delays in the approval process. Therefore, please plan accordingly and allow extra time for this.
I want to order an individual cutting die, which format do I need to order?
The format to be selected is based on the above-mentioned rules. The final format, including all tear-off tags, must be taken into account. You can find more information here: cutting die.
Please note that the price may change if the selected format needs to be adjusted to meet the requirements.
Materials
What materials are used?
Bibs
We print our bibs on "Tyvek®" 75 g/m². "Tyvek®" is a non-woven Polyethylene fiber material. It is very light, does not rip, is breathable, and waterproof. The bibs are extremely durable and 100 % recyclable. Please note that "Tyvek®" can not be printed on by regular laser printers.
Bike Plates
We use Polypropylen 234 g/m² (300 μm) or 317,5g/m² (400 μm) for our Bike plates. This material is also waterproof, form-stable, and 100 % recyclable.
Flyer
We print our flyers on "Profi Silk (matt coated)" 135g/m². This PEFC certified material has a smooth and homogeneous surface. It impresses with brilliant colors and good readability.
Sticker waterproof
For our waterproof stickers as well as for the Triathlon Sticker Set and the Seatpost Sticker, we use the waterproof adhesive film "Digilabel PE white matt" 210 g/m2 of which film 100 g/m².
Sticker water soluble
For our water soluble stickers we use the water soluble adhesive paper "Digilabel matt" 200 g/m² of which paper 90 g/m². To ensure an easy use, the back of the stickers is pre-cut.
Letter / Info Sheet
We print our letters / info sheets on "Digigold IceWhite" 90g/m2. This uncoated material is wood-free and has a bright, high-white appearance.

Recycling of Bibs / Bike Plates
"Tyvek®" and our Bike Plates can / should be fed into the recycling cycle via the "Gelber Punkt".
Thanks to modern recycling technology, polypropylene that is collected through the recycling system "Gelber Punkt" can be separated from other materials and processed accordingly.
"Tyvek®" is 100 % recyclable, so the race number can be given a second life.
Print Approval
Do I get a print preview before production?
Yes, we will send you a print preview for every layout, you can still request changes at this point. Once you approve the preview, the layout goes to production and can not be changed anymore. Please note that colors can look different depending on the monitor you are using.
For all custom print products we can not give any refunds once they are produced.

Below the names of the set, you can also check the size of the product, as well as the material and the quantity.
Main Content
This is the preview of every print product (front and back if ordered) being printed. What you see here is exactly what will be printed, sorted and packed. If something is not correct, DO NOT approve the order. Instead, please make a change request and explain what needs to be changed. We will be happy to implement your change request and you will receive a new preview from us as quickly as possible.
Right-Side Panel
Listed from top to bottom.
- Order preview: This shows each item in the order, setup fees, shipping, order sum, tax, and order total.
- Personalization: If you are using RR12 for participant management, you can provide us with your Event ID when placing the order. With "Reload Data", you can continuously update the data during the layout process. The number that is shown there, is the Event ID, we will load the data from. If this is not the correct Event ID, please do not approve the draft and make a change request.
You can also see when the last update was. - Shipping address: If needed, you can select "change" in order to change the shipping address.
- Invoice Address: If different from the shipping address, you can select "change" to change this address.
- Latest Possible Arrival: This section shows the available shipping options as of when the page was loaded. This will change from day to day.
- Print Approval / Change Request: Here you can approve your order or request a change. You can even set a reminder for yourself to follow up on the order at a later date.

Mobile View
The view on a mobile device is slightly different from the view on a computer. The print preview is divided into two screens. One has all the order-information, the shipping- and the communication-options. This is similar to the right panel of the view on a computer.
The difference is that you can preview the print products by clicking on "Open Drafts" and the second screen will show.
Important
It is important that you do not approve an order that has a mistake. If anything is out of place with the design or the order total, please request a change, so our team can fix the issue. Note, making a change request is the most efficient way to contact us regarding an order.
Emails are not always linked with the correct order and can sometimes be missed.
Bibs
All print products, except regular and RACE RESULT bibs are subject to our print preview process. production will only start after your approval.
Can I Reuse Bibs Next Year?
Our bibs are disposable and not intended for multiple uses.
For bibs with transponders, we cannot guarantee their repeated use. Even if the transponder appears undamaged – i.e., not bent or exposed to moisture – reusing it is not advisable. If you still consider reusing it, it is essential to thoroughly check this before your event. We decline any support for complications arising from multiple uses.
Big Holes
I want bigger holes, is this possible?
All our bibs come with holes punched into them. The diameter of the standard holes is 5.5 mm , these come at no extra charge.
We also offer holes with 10 mm, in this case there is a 70 EUR / 70 USD fee per order.
Tyvek Bib Number A5, Regular
What are "Tyvek Bib Number A5, regular"?
"Tyvek Bib Number A5, regular" are pre produced, black and white bibs. This product does not come with a setup fee. The bibs come in ranges of 100 (i.e. 1-100, 101-200...). A custom layout, design or number range is not possible. If you need this we recommend "Tyvek bib A5" full color or b / w.
Backside Print for Bibs / MTB Plates with Transponder
Is it possible to print text or designs on the back of bibs / MTB plates?
Yes, it is possible to print on the back of bibs and MTB plates. Our high-quality printing ensures that graphics and text remain clear and durable throughout the event.
If you want to order Bibs or MTB plates with transponder, the placement of the transponder must be taken into consideration. Transponders are embedded in a designated area, which limits the printable space on the back. However, to provide you a maximum flexibility while meeting a wide range of expectations, you have four options to choose from for the backside. Each option offers unique advantages.

Option 1: Standard Backside Print
For bibs / MTB plates with transponders, the back comes with a standard design. The positions of the transponders vary to ensure optimal use of space within the box, reducing shipping costs as much as possible.
This option is provided at no additional cost.

Option 2: Standard Backside Print with individual text on top
This option is identical to option 1, with the only difference being that the upper red area can be customized.

Option 4: Individual Backside Print with a fixed transponder position on the edge
For an additional charge, you can customize the back of bibs / MTB plates with a transponder in the marked red area.
With this option, the transponder is positioned exclusively on the outer edge, providing a larger customizable area compared to Option 3. The designable area is fixed in the center.
Please note that shipping costs will automatically increase with this option in the shopping cart, as the number of boxes increases due to the reduced number of transponder positions.

Backside Print for Products without Transponder
Is it possible to print text or designs on the back of print products?
Yes, it is possible to print on the back of bibs, MTB plates, flyers and letters. Our high-quality printing ensures that graphics and text remain clear and durable throughout the event. The entire back surface is available for custom printing. This allows great flexibility in design, for example for sponsor logos, race information or safety instructions.

Formats and Materials
What formats are available?
Our biggest format that we offer is 30 x 30 cm and the smallest is 3 x 6 cm.
Can I get custom shapes?
This is generally possible. Here you can find more information about the different options.

Can I use the sticker as a bib sticker?
We can not guarantee that the sticker will stick to textiles. Especially when it gets wet, the material does not have enough suction power.
Triathlon Sticker-Set
Can I change the size of the stickers?
No, an adjustment of the individual stickers is not possible, as they are already pre-cut and therefore remain unchanged in their shape and size.
Envelopes
How long does the production of envelopes take?

Can the envelope be fully printed on?
Envelopes can only be printed on an area of A4 (210 x 297 mm). Unfortunately, borderless printing is not possible.
Please note that full -surface graphics and / or color areas cannot be printed due to the pressure process. You can find further information in our data sheet.
Why do the colors differ on the envelope compared to the bibs?
The envelopes are printed using an inkjet printer, the ink seeps into the paper. Because of that the colors are not as vibrant.
Can the envelopes be shipped to the customers directly?
Please note that the race packs will be shipped to you.
Direct shipping to your customer is not possible.
