Cleaning

The Ubidium Ground Antenna can be cleaned with water and non-solvent based cleaning solutions such as car shampoo. 

Never use a power-washer on the ground antenna as the high pressure water can damage seals on the coupling joint which may impact the connection of antennas. 

Drying

If any element of the ground antenna is submerged in water or exposed to extreme rainfall you should ensure that water does not remain inside the antenna for prolonged storage periods. After any event where you believe water may enter the ground antenna base componenent it is recommended to open the covers to check for water ingress. 

If you find water inside the antenna element cutout follow the following steps to prevent damage to sensitive components. 

• Unscrew and disconnect both coupling joints from the antenna
• Remove the antenna element and place in a warm, dry room until there is no surface moisture remaining
• Ensure that all plastics and cables are clean and dry, paying particular attention to the coupling joints
• Only once completely dry - replace the antenna element and cables.
