For age-group and open triathlon events, the RACE RESULT Passive System offers a reliable and cost-effective solution. Athletes wear waterproof, disposable ankle transponders with 0.2 s accuracy. Ubidium Timing System and its Ground Antenna are setup at the timing points.

Ready-to-Use Templates
In RACE RESULT 12 software, the triathlon template lets you easily configure swim, transition, and finish timing points.
The transponder needs to be worn on the ankle - above the swim suit! In our example here, all participants start from the beach. The timing system at the start is used to check who is currently in the water.
For the system on swim exit, make sure to keep away from water. Ideally, athletes need to run a few meters before passing the ground antenna. This helps to dry off the transponder and improve read rates.
Please note you cannot use a 6m- or 8.4m-Extension with disposable triathlon transponders.
In RACE RESULT 12 use the "Triathlon" template, which offers you exactly these timing points and all necessary results.

Ubidium Foldable Ground Antenna
Delivers unprecedented flexibility and the highest detection rates. Each element contains a specially developed RACE RESULT UHF reader. The mat connects directly to Ubidium. It can be adjusted in length as desired, up to 23 meters per system (30 segments).
Triathlon Transponder (disposable)
Foam strip with integrated UHF transponder that is attached to the ankle. Ideal for large events. Layout and number ranges can be adjusted.
