One technology stack, two solutions. RACE RESULT is now bringing its expertise in sports timing to industrial applications. locantra is a standalone solution that makes asset tracking in production facilities, warehouses and large sites simple and affordable.
“Who was where, and when?” Ultimately, sports timing comes down to this one question. To answer it reliably, RACE RESULT has developed technology that is used around the world. In 2025, it recorded more than 16 million athletes in over 120 countries, calculated their times and made the results available live.
“What is where right now?” Countless companies face this question every day. Products, components, machines or transport containers are placed outdoors or stored in warehouses, only to require considerable staff time to locate them again later.
How locantra Works
This is where locantra comes in. Although it operates as an independent brand, the solution draws on RACE RESULT’s many years of expertise in RFID hardware, wireless communication and software. It provides transparency about the location of operational assets, reduces search times and improves efficiency.
RFID tags are attached to the assets and automatically detected by mobile RFID readers as they pass by. The readers can be installed at gates, on machines or on forklifts, for example. They detect several thousand transponders per minute and immediately transfer the recorded data to the locantra software. Users can see at any time where an asset was last registered. This happens automatically during ongoing operations, without any additional manual entries.
Less Searching, More Efficiency
The solution is particularly cost-effective for companies where large numbers of assets are moved regularly or distributed across extensive sites. locantra reduces search times, helps prevent shortages and avoids unnecessary replacement purchases.
“For years, sports timing has required us to detect thousands of objects automatically and reliably, even under difficult conditions. With locantra, we are applying this expertise to a challenge we see in many industrial companies: valuable operational assets are available, but cannot be found when they are needed,” says Dominic Lipp, who coordinates the project.
Ready for Deployment
Following a successful pilot phase, locantra is already in use with its first customers. New projects can be planned and implemented within a few weeks.
Companies can find further information at locantra.de and arrange a consultation or a trial deployment.
